In my recent Fjallraven Kanken backpack review, I compared the Fjallraven Kanken backpack with other well-known backpacks. These were the Vasque, Volcom, Kelty, and possibly Smith & Dragon’s new Envirolet line of backpacks. My review focused on four reasons to own the Kanken Backpack Air Blue. Large Kanken Backpacks
First, the Fjallraven Kanken is a large backpack. In my opinion, the biggest drawback of this feature is the difficulty of getting the large interior pockets organized. The sides and corners of the large interior are not deep or wide enough to allow for a pack rat’s accession of pouches, and for that matter, I don’t think they’re necessary at all. A number of the better packs have large interior storage built right in, but I find it a bit awkward trying to work with such large objects when I’m only sitting on the cushion of my seat. (Yes, I’ve had several days where I did get stuck on the airplane and had to maneuver through the packed luggage once I got off the plane and into my actual seat.)
Well-organized Kanken Backpacks
I also found the organization of the Kanken quite nice. I appreciated how the straps and mesh backpacks held all of my belongings together. The stitching of the Kanken was quite sturdy, which made it easier to wear and keep clean. However, if you do become a serious pack rat and need to take your pack with you most anywhere, this may not be the best option for you. Most people don’t enjoy having to organize their things on a regular basis.
Comfortable Kanken Backpacks

The materials used in making the Kanken Kids Purple make them extremely comfortable. I especially appreciate the extremely soft and comfy fleece lining. This lining is washable and highly durable. I’ve been using the pack for extended periods during wet and cold seasons, and the fact that my pack never became uncomfortable for me is one of the best features of the pack. I find that I’m able to sleep much more comfortably when using the Kanken because the fabric is warm, but not to the point of becoming uncomfortable for me. I also like the fact that most Kanken packs come with an organizer pocket for holding smaller items, as well as compartments for storing other smaller stuff, such as flashlights and other items.
One of the best parts of the pack is its versatility. There are several ways in which you can transport the Kanken, but all of them are comfortable for me. You simply rip the pack open and the straps snap out for easy packing and transportation. This makes transporting the pack even easier!
Durable and Sturdy
Finally, the company has put a lot of effort into making the pack extremely durable and sturdy. I don’t have to worry about the pack getting ruined because of being over packed or knocked over. I love that my pack is extremely durable, and I wouldn’t even consider buying another sports backpacks brand.

When I think about all of these reasons, I get extremely excited about owning this awesome product. I want to be able to take all of my friends and family with me everywhere I go, and I can’t wait to climb the hills wherever I go. I love the outdoors so much, and I would encourage anyone to get a Kanken Mini Birch Green. It’s durable, it’s comfortable, and it’s a great way to travel without spending tons of money. With a Kanken mini size backpack, you won’t ever regret purchasing it.
